I met Rhonda Fink-Whitman in 1988 when I began working at Shadow Traffic. Almost a quarter of a century later we are still friends. For this I am grateful and blessed. I have always been impressed by Rhonda’s talent and tenacity. She is an inspiration. Listen to her “94 Maidens” journey and tell me if you don’t agree.
Below is a description of the newly released, made-for-paperback screenplay, taken from the 94 Maidens website. I can’t wait to see it fleshed out on the big screen!
Thank you, Rhonda, for sharing a bit of your family’s painful history. We need to constantly be reminded of the human atrocities that have plagued mankind since he beginning of time. On the grand scale of human history, Nazi Germany is chillingly recent.
Inspired by true events, “94 Maidens” is an unforgettable story of heroism, resistance, martyrdom and survival by first-time novelist, screenwriter, television and radio personality, and Jewish educator, Rhonda Fink-Whitman.
An American “Shop From Home” TV host, hell-bent on helping her aging mother heal from scars left by the Holocaust, travels to a secret location in Germany and pitches her way into the world’s only sealed Nazi archive.
Inside she gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers her connections to a young Jewish family playing a perilous game of cat and mouse with the Nazis in the final days of Hitler’s Berlin and a group of Jewish school girls in occupied-Poland who, facing the Nazi beast, are forced to make the ultimate choice: defilement or death.
Will the truth set her mother free? And how will her journey of discovery change her life…forever?
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
