The book above is a project by a dear friend, colleague, and helluva good writer! Here’s the byline from the publisher:
Kevin Walsh lives in Wellesley, Mass., with his wife, Jean, and daughters Samantha and Amanda. He is a seasoned sports and news broadcaster with Comcast SportsNet New England and New England Cable News. Kevin’s first book, The Marrow in Me, details his courageous journey as a bone marrow donor.
It is just like Kevin to give his father and daughter equal billing on the front cover. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure their input and contributions are tremendous, but the placement of the names speaks to Kev’s humility and upbringing.
About the other authors:
Bob Walsh lives in Ledyard, Conn., with his wife, Mary McGrattan. He retired from a forty-year career in the pharmaceutical industry and now spends his days fishing, designing fly rods, feeding the homeless, and traveling. Regularly by Bob s side is his ever-faithful dog, Annie the Corgi.
Samantha Walsh is the ten-year-old daughter of Kevin and granddaughter of Bob. Her favorite activities include taking care of her family s German Shepherd, Beverly, and dancing in ballet performances. She hopes to one day become a veterinarian.
Kevin sent me an email asking me to help spread the word about his book:
…in his book The Tipping Point, Gladwell writes about the Law of the Few. Essentially it comes down to doing more with less; identifying a few key people among your contacts who are mavens of information and influence, and asking them to help. The special few are special simply because they just are. You are on my short list of fewer than 10 people. You have influenced me and many others. That’s why I’m proud to know you.
I was touched by his message to me and I am a fan of Malcolm Gladwell, but this is not why I am spreading the word. Instead, I am spreading the word because of who Kevin is–one of the good guys with heart and integrity. He did an amazing job with “The Marrow In Me,” a truly inspiring book.
I know the story behind Follow The Dog Home, and it is incredible! I have yet to read the finished version, however, but I am downloading it and asking you to do the same. More from Kevin:
A couple of important dates and notes: The book is available right now as an ebook on Kindle, Nook, IPad, ect. The official release of the hardcover for stores & retailers (Barnes & Noble, Amazon) won’t be until February 1, 2012. The February release is timed to coincide with National Dog Month and the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. However, a small number of books (1,500), is being printed now. Those can be pre-ordered now and should be available around Christmas. That limited edition early release is only for purchase on our secure website, www.followthedoghome.com. We haven’t told the media about the early release, because it would sort of dilute the February push.
Uh, Kev, hello? You told me, pal. Therefore, you told the media.
Good luck, Kevin.
Enjoy, everyone! Check back and let me know what you think of the story.

Hah! You’re right that telling you is telling the media. I just wanted Bella media and mi famiglia to have first shot at it. Grazie, grazie! Love your show.
